Hey!! :) I see you are interested in seeing where this journey will take me . . . weeeeellllll, so am I.
All I know is that I will make it to Scotland for 10 weeks. Now I just need to figure out 1.) how on earth to do it and 2.) how in tarnation to document it.
Hehe. I hope this will be a successful venture. I hope you will wanna stick around. I hope I make it to Scotland (and back!!!) in one piece with no feelings of tingling skin or genes turning in on themselves. Even tho I do enjoy a good time travel story (ahem . . . cough, cough . . . Outlander . . . cough) I am not sure I would survive the Pictish times.
Oh and sorry if my incessant pop culture references get to you, all I can say is "Welcome to all that is Yzzy". LOL.
http://www.dianagabaldon.com/books/outlander-series/ Outlander and etc. by Diana Gabaldon are just THE BEST time travel novels EVER. Just kinda putting that out there.

Sooooo, isn't the first step identifying where I will be staying? Yeah, I haven't deduced that yet. This is the map of Scotland I snagged over at: http://www.worldatlas.com/webimage/countrys/europeent/uks.htm
I love this map. I think it shows the outline of the country fairly well That little tongue looking appendage to the immediate east of Loch Ness is the Black Isle and on the south side of The Black Isle, just a little bit to the north east of Inverness's little red dot lies Rosemarkie. That is where I am going to try to set up camp for the 10-12 weeks I plan to be in Scotland.
